Marion is running for mayor to continue that service and do his part to build a stronger, safer, and more vibrant Monroe for you, your family, and all our future residents.

Gary has served our community on the city council, as Mayor Pro Tem, and on several committees dedicated to providing services to our residents. An experienced educator, he believes in making downtown a more vibrant area while also prioritizing a balanced budget
James Kerr

Businessman – Innovator – Civic Leader
James is the owner/broker of J. Kerr Co. Real Estate in downtown Monroe where he has been instrumental in downtown revitalization projects. As our city councilman, he will continue to encourage economic development and represent the interests of ALL of Monroe.
Julie Thompson
for City Councilwoman
Conservative – Educator – Active Resident
Julie is a lifelong citizen of Monroe who has spent the last two decades teaching at Shining Light Baptist Academy. As our city councilwoman, she will lean on her conservative principles to ensure elected officials serve the people and not the other way around.
